Holy Land

This painting is from a photo taken in the early 1980's when after a night turned to day I was cruisin' my 900 out of the the Holy Lands in NE Wisconsin. Early fall, early day, late for work. Perfect time to stop and enjoy nature.
Friday
I will add photos, comments, etc. as time moves on. Most of my artistic focus is on the creation and installation of a community mural in Oshkosh, WI. Although I am not an art leader in the community, I believe the work I am doing is artistic in the sense that Murals are not allowed in Oshkosh so this effort will push the limits of art in Oshkosh and move Art into the public view.

Community Foundation supports Oshkosh mural

The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation has generously agreed to match the first $5,000 in donation to the Oshkosh Mural Project. This means each dollar you donate potentially will be "doubled." Donations can be made on line at www.OshkoshAreaCF.org by selecting "Oshkosh Community Mural Fund." You may also send a check payable to: OACF- Community Mural, 230 Ohio Street, Suite 100 Oshkosh, WI 54902.

Several other local businesses have already supported this project through materials, labor, and technical assistance. They include the Time Community Theatre, Omni Paint and Glass, Oshkosh Lumber, Evergreen Retirement Community, Kitz and Pfiel, 100 N. Main, Digital Printing Innovations, The Oshkosh Public Museum, Walgreen's and Bru-Nick Builders. The Oshkosh Northwestern has begun a photo history of the project as well as given us exceptional coverage (see July 6, 2010 article Murals In & Out.) We want to thank all of the above for your prideful assistance. With the cooperation of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, you are offered a chance to become our partner by giving generously. This project will enhance the community through art, preserve our history, as well as deepen the sense of pride in Oshkosh.

If you have questions or know a group who would like to paint on the mural, please call Rich Norenberg at (920) 235-9997. Girl Scouts paint first On July 14th at he 100 N. Main building. Several Wednesday and Thursday evenings through October are available. Please come and see history be made. Better yet, be part of history, be part of the Oshkosh Community Mural by giving at the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation. All donations are tax deductible and will go directly to the construction, artwork, maintenance and installation of the mural. Thank you for your support,

Rich Norenberg

Art Virgin

Thanks to Daithi and Leif Larson, I am about to lose my Art Virginty. That's right- in front of hundreds of people I will  show my first paintings during the The Oshkosh Gallery Walk April 2, 2011. I'll have five pieces as part of the "Public Employees Art Show" at 480 N. Main St. One year ago, I was contemplating doing something like this and now I am going to do it. Talk about ripping your close off in front of a bunch of people you don't know- what a dream!

Thanks Dave and…

Simply amazing beautiful, the depth in the relection,  you really are capturing the feeling of Wisconsin pastures ,woods, marshes and waterways.  Composition and mood are great!

Try shooting them outside, maybe a little overcast around 1 or 2 in the afternoon.  Just try not to get a hot spot or reflection.  Sometimes I'll put them under shade, like a tree if it  isn't windy.   I usually take many in  different lights.  If you have photoshop you can clean it up from there.  Anyways I too believe those cameras whereout!
